Here we are visiting Parker while he was camping with his folks. Christian and Parker did a little wading out into the water at low tide.

We threw Christian a party at Whirlwinds on his 4th birthday and invited all of his preschool friends. Here are a few random pics from the event.

It was a good day despite the weather. It was chilly and cloudy all day, more like March than June. Later, after the party, we were going to go to the Space Needle but on the way there Christian saw the Duck, a touristy Seattle thing where they take you all around the city in an amphibious vehicle. It was chilly but fun.

Christian wants me to build his scooter now so I'm off.

Another Halloween, another trip to Remlinger farms. I don't know why we don't go there more often. Oh wait, yes I do. It's fifteen bucks per person. But, it must work for them because the place is crowded and I have to admit that it's pretty cool that once you're in, all the rides and such are free. So it probably evens out and is maybe even a little cheaper than if you had to pay per-ride.

Christian did the pony ride again but he didn't seem as enchanted by that as last time. I think his favorite thing this time around was the train ride and the hay maze.

We have reached full on potty trained mode. Does this mean no more kid blog? What do I turn this into now? Perhaps just a chronicle of life at the Kincade household. Frankie has her own blog at www.frankiekincade.blogspot.com, so maybe I'll keep doing this until Christian is old enough to do it on his own.

It's been a while since the last post. Camera problems, software problems, and just being busy have conspired to keep me away.

Christian got to see the Blue Angels take off a couple months ago. This was quite exciting for him but a little too loud also. I had to cover his ears for him. But now we've got a confirmed Blue Angels fan for life.

We also went camping a couple of times this summer. The first time was a disaster for many reasons. We weren't that prepared and the campsite wasn't very good either. (Dash Point State Park in Federal Way - Yes, there is camping in Federal Way.) But our second trip was quite the success. We went to Bainbridge Island which is just a short ferry ride away. The campsite even has a playground for Christian to work out his energy. We did get a little cold so we probably won't go again this year. But we have a nice 6 man tent that even I can stand up in so we'll be itching to use it a lot next summer.

Christian is in preschool now 3 half days each week. He really loves preschool and I think it's good for learning how to play with other kids. We have had reports of him being a little ornery from time to time which doesn't surprise me, knowing who his dad is. But our last report was that he is starting to get with the program. Which probably means less running away, less throwing things when he shouldn't, and doing what teacher says.

Christian also loves doing the Highlights puzzles that we get every couple of weeks. He enjoys the mazes and the seek and finds.

I'll try to update a little more often from here on out. I think I've got my camera problems worked out.

Christian's 3rd birthday take.

I see your point about Raffi, but I prefer the Wiggles.

Hmm. Could've used more blue goo.

The penguin exhibit

Eeeek! Water! Get us away, we'll melt!

I want a piece this big!

Here are some pics from Christian's 3rd birthday party. We went to the zoo, had some cake and ice cream, and then wandered around to see animals. Thanks to Nora, Sophie, Amelia, Maeve, and Alma and all their folks for the nice presents and fun time at the zoo.

They named one of the penguins "creepy" and had the whole zoo laughing. Each time Creepy swam by, (which was basically any penguin) they screamed "Creepy!! Creepy!!".

Christian and Maeve both had the same "blue goo" flavoring on their ice cream, and Christian entertained everyone, (mostly himself) by saying to Maeve, several times, "Your ice cream's like my ice cream, Blue Goo!" Believe it or not, he got all the way down to the cone with that tower of ice cream without dropping it. Probably why he had so much energy.

Christian and I flew a kite today at gasworks and had a total blast. Nevermind my new baby fatigue.

Riding the Carousel

Hatching

Brave Bird

While we anxiously await the arrival of our 2nd, here are some pics of our first, who is still cute, to tide everyone over. We obviously aren't as camera crazy as we used to be but I noticed that it had been 3 months since our last post. That, and a new 2 gig memory stick just dying to be warmed up.

I took Christian to the zoo today while mom was confined to bedrest. Normally the parakeets that you see above are a little jittery to get on those sticks, even with steady-handed adults. But this one had no fear at all even as I slyly reached into my pocket for the camera. Note the attention span of a two-year-old. He's got a bird eating from his stick but that's just not enough. He's already moved on to the next thing. At one point, a larger bird nosed this one off the stick and started eating, but that scared the bejeesus out of Christian and he dropped his stick.

Unless something comes over me, the next post here will have another addition to the family. I might have to change the name of the blog -- we'll see!
